Richard works as an endocrine surgeon in Swansea, Hywel Dda and Cardiff, and has a specialist interest in thyroid cancer. Aside from clinical duties, he has an interest in surgical training and education, and is the current training programme director for general surgery trainees within Health Education and Improvement Wales. Other interests include research, with a focus on surgical education and endocrine surgery, leadership, and planned care.
Richard has been involved with the Thyroid Cancer Support Group Wales for several years and was proud to be invited to follow Dr Laura Moss as the groups’ Honorary President. Hopefully over the coming years we can continue to provide care and support to anyone diagnosed with thyroid cancer in Wales, and work closely with our sister organisations across the UK.’
