Raffle Event Thanks to Gil Cardell (past Chair of the group) for organising a raffle in work of a wishing well filled with flowers. Thanks to David Williams for making the wishing well. The raffle raised £127. Recipe books These have sold exceptionly well.The first print run of 500 sold out within weeks! A second print run of 250 has almost sold out. An amazing fund raising effort by Helen for the iNATT project. National Anaplastic Thyroid cancer Tissue bank. (iNATT) The main thrust of our fund raising efforts will be directed to provide financial help to set up and maintain this tissue bank to enable research into Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer. The cost of setting up the tissue bank will be in the order of £10,500. The Support Group has pledged to fund the whole project. The tissue bank will be set up in Cardiff and will enable researchers from the UK, Europe and the rest of the world to access samples for their research. This is the rarest form of thyroid cancer (only about 0.17 per 100,000). Book of Recipes "Favourite Foods of the Famous ....and not so famous" will cost £5 per copy. Summer Party The annual summer party was held on Friday 19th July. It was a truly summer's evening weatherwise. Eighty five friends and family had a thoroughly enjoyabe evening. A total of over £1000 was raised from this event. Many thanks to Helen for all her hard work in organising this popular event which has become a firm favourite on the Group's calender of events. Thanks again Helen, you are a human dynamo!! We have been nominated by the Nationwide Building Society as one of three charities to benefit from their Community Match programme. There will be voting stations in branches for people to vote for their preferred charity. Please go along to your local branch of the Nationwide and cast your vote for our charity. If our charity receives the most votes of the three charities, we would receive a donation of £500. Please vote!	July 9, 2013
