Captain Cymru (aka Matthew Evans) has organised the November Challenge which will run from Friday 30th October to Saturday 28th November 2015.www.novemberchallenge.com

The Challenge is to raise funds for Thyroid Cancer Support Group - Wales to enable it to continue its work supporting thyroid cancer patients and supporting research into this rare form of cancer.
The Chalenge has been designed to promote healthier life styles by committing to running / walking a mile a day.

Option 1 is the 30 day i mile challenge. designed to get people out into the fresh air and walk a mile a day for thirty days.

Option 2 is the Extra Mile Challenge which is designed to test everyone to see how far they can actually go! Run 1 mile a day then two miles on the second day and so on. Each day's run can be done over a 24 hour period.

The final day will be on Saturday 28th November and runners will finish up on the harbour at Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire. All runners will be presented with a medal.

Captain Cymru will be presenting a cheque to Mrs Helen Hobrough, Chair of the Group. Other members of the Group will be in attendance to welcome the runners home and to thank them for their superb efforts in raising funds for our Group. (Let's hope the weather will be kind to us!! I am sure the Captain can arrange it. He is infallible !!)

Awareness event at the Surgeons'  Conference at the Royal College of Surgeons London

20 memebers of the Usk Vale Wheelers took part in the Velothon 2015. They completed the 140km ride to raise awareness of our support group and to raise sponsorship.
Many thanks to all the boys for doing this event for us.

The South Wales Cancer Network are holding a conference on Wednesday 30th September at Margam Park. The conference attracts professionals and cancer patients to talk about cancer.
Our Group have been invited to talk about thyroid cancer and our stories.

This will be an ideal opportunity to raise awareness of thyroid cancer especially as September is Thyroid Cancer Awareness month. It will enable us to promote the work of the Group in supporting patients. Dr Laura Moss will be talking about the iNATT project which the Group is funding.
