Thyroid Cancer Alliance
Thyroid Cancer Alliance (TCA) at the World Congress of Thyroid Cancer. Helen Hobrough, Chair of our Support Group, attended the World Congress on Thyroid Cancer as a Director of the Thyroid Cancer Alliance (TCA). The Congress was held in Toronto between the 9th and 14th July. There were over 1,000 delegates attending from over 61 countries. It provided an excellent opportunity for our Support Group (TCSGW) to showcase our work on the world stage! In particular, the iNATT project which is a world 1st. |

Summer Party
The annual summer party was held on Friday 19th July. It was a truly summer's evening weatherwise. Eighty five friends and family had a thoroughly enjoyabe evening. A total of over £1000 was raised from this event.
Thanks to all those individuals who donated prizes for the raffle on the evening. Our thanks also to Gordon and his staff at the Seashore Grill for their very generous support for our Charity and the super buffet they laid on for the party. Many thanks also to Edson Printers and Integrated Graphics for their continued help and support in meeting our printed material needs. |

Patient and Carer conference
Helen, Brenda and Cy attended the Patient and Carer conference sponsored by the South Wales Cancer Network Patient Forum. This was held in the Orangery at Margam Abbey.Some 112 delegates from various cancer services and support groups attended. The key note introductory speach was given by Professor Mark Drakeford AM, Minister for Health and Social Care in the Welsh Government in Cardiff. We took advantage of this conference to have a table top display to raise awareness of thyroid cancer and to talk to other interested support group members |

Thyroid Cancer Awareness
September was Thyroid Cancer Awareness month. Helen took the opportunity to raise awarness of thyroid cancer on the local Bro radio which broadcasts to Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan. |
