FOUNDER MEMBER – Dave Woolven
I became involved with the idea of a support group, when Dr Moss asked me if I’d be interested in participating in one. That was ten years ago. I haven’t missed many meetings since that first one. I thought that the group would be talking to newly diagnosed people with thyroid cancer, and thought that people could look at me and think that if I’ve survived for all these years – since 1974 – then they can too. But ‘buddying’ is only a small part of what the group does. I enjoy working on the gardens outside the treatment rooms. By attending the meetings I have found out a lot more about thyroid cancer and have met some lovely people.
