In 2010 TCSGW made a DVD of the Radioiodine process at Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff.
The DVD is given to patients who are due to undergo ablation treatment usually following surgery. Patients are given the DVD and can watch it in the comfort of their own homes. It is specific to their experiences at Velindre and was the first DVD of its
type to be produced.
Members of the support group talk about and share their own thoughts and experiences and it is something that has proved to be a great success with newly diagnosed patients and also their family members.
Hopefully, the DVD gives patients an insight into the process and a view of our isolation rooms, supplementing the information given by the Nuclear Medicine department at Velindre Cancer Centre.
